BACKGROUND
Further to the interaction between symphonic orchestra and electronic music initiated with the orchestral piece FM-2 and Pan Sonic’s Vaihtovirta at the Sonar Festival 2004, the attempt to approach the combination of these two sonorities was rethought with the pieces PN-1 and PN-2, which opened the Festival in 2005. MUSIC
Developing the FM-2 experiment, and this time together with Sergio Caballero, more attention was paid to the different orchestral textures. In both pieces, a slow pulse was retained as a sharp contrast to the electronic one. Piece number one has a mainly ritual character while the second explores the timbre possibilities of a fundamentally thematic element.
