BACKGROUND
German artist Roland Olbeter, creator of the musical robots, decided to stage a presentation of his instruments by commissioning musicians from different styles and traditions to produce small compositions created specifically for them. I was chosen as the “classical” representative.
TITLE
FM = Funeral Music
MUSIC
The robots were originally designed for the show Afasia by Marcel·lí Antúnez. Electric air motors powered the instruments. The notes were played through a midi sequencer.
